Replacing Toyota or Bronco RCV IFS axle CV boot. D12211-BK outboard CV boot replacement
Detailed video showing how to properly replace an RCV D12211 CV boot for the Toyota or Bronco IFS application. Due to the limited space from suspension components, the D12211 CV boot was designed for high clearance in Toyota applications to make room for aftermarket shocks. Because of this unique design, additional strain can be seen on the first few cv boot bellows. Proper installation of this boot for optimal performance requires the boot to be compressed before clamping to the axle shaft. This measurement must be 4.4" from edge to edge.

Testing RCV Carbon Fiber RZR Prop Shaft
Просмотров 3,1 тыс.6 лет назад
Many people are concerned Carbon Fiber won't hold up to the abuses of off-road racing. It is expected that it would explode or shatter if it came in contact with anything during use. Despite the fact the prop shaft on the RZR XP1000 and XP turbo is protected by the chassis and skid plate, there are still concerns if something would happen to come in contact with the prop shaft. This video prove...

How do you do the black one? Does that side just come right off?
These guys are always eaten pussy and kickin ass!!😎👊🏻
Esse mesmo
anybody here tried it on on their ranger raptor 2021
how to order
NO SENSE IN TAKING IT OFF IF EVERYTHING IS BRAND NEW, MAKES NO SENSE AT ALL!!!!!!!!!! IF WE ARE TAKING THE BLEEPING THING OFF THEN ITS BEEN ON FOR A WHILE AND THE RUST DOES NOT LET THINGS SLIDE EASLY
Just installed them on my 1979 bronco , no grinding. Dont know what all the fuss is about?
That boot is so heated up
Really good video! 🎉
If you're thinking of using Teraflex BJ. The Teraflex ball joints will not work with the RCV or 1410 Ujoint axles. The Zero fitting are way to tall.
Hey guys thank you for the video, can you guys share the torque in all the bolt and nuts that can be helpful for people with not lot experience.
The Wrangler modified the RCV35 toothed half shaft
They are very strong but I’ll go chromoly These guys aren’t interested in answering emails
What about the small fad axel near differential?
Mad scientist is right. That rear diff is something else man. I've never seen anything like that.
Are there any videos on how to fix a leaking one of these🤔?
Just now learning about these axles. recently got an 08 rubicon unlimited. Anyone here using these axles and have feedback?
I'm running these axles in my '10 Rubicon Unlimited with a 4.5" lift and 37" tires now for 13 years. Some rock crawling & muddin' but mostly highway driving. No issues with these axles themselves except plan on replacing those orange cover boots when they crack from degradation.
Just had them installed on my 2020 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon with 38” Nitto Trail Grapplers and a 3.5” Clayton Overland lift kit. So far, so good. I’ll never beat mine like this video as I’d be more afraid of busting the new 5:13 gears over the axle shafts. My crawling is slow and steady. Plus I’m now absolutely out of fun money and can’t risk blowing anything up. 😏
How cool!! I just watched a vid from the hoonigan garage during my lunch break on the old Tahoe build with the coyote and he grabbed some of these RCV Axles for the build. I had never heard of this company but the axles looked very impressive so I looked online for them for my truck and on the website there was a link to this video, soo I watched it to see what they were all about… And you’re in Rockford,IL!! Me too! Born and raised in Rockford area and this certainly made me want to purchase these axles even more now for my 2013 silverado 1500! I will be getting in touch with RCV with a few questions and hopefully attain some of these quality axles that will fit my build
How do you take the damn thing off? We are stuff and can’t remove them to switch the knuckles.
Maybe a brass hammer next time?
Best of the Best 👌🏻
Are the grease boots available in black?
I’m pretty sure that hammer he’s using on the balls and races in the second bit is aluminum, it’s not going to mar a tool steel ball bearing. It’s a little rough looking, but not as bad as it would seem.
Does not work. I've been out of breath about 12 times now. Used a dead blow like the other video shows etc. Nothing. Should I melt the boot ?
Pure inspiration for my rig
Of only we knew that JK sport S with max tow Dana44 are different than rubicon dana 44s
you thinking JL/JT?
Hitting the ball bearings with a metal hell NO!
I work for mountain enterprises and seeing these things bombing around the yard is incredible. Beautiful pieces of machinery.
You don't tell what to do with the C clips that come with the RCVs. Or the grease; I see the CVs are already greased so is this grease extra?
God bless america
Seems these would not be good for a daily driver as dirt would quickly make its way past the orange rubber boot/seal
But only if you purchase 1000 or more right?
Paul, this video is quite outdated. However we will still do custom length axles individually. Custom CVs will require minimums that will vary. For more information please email sales@rcvperformance.com
How come you don’t sell these?
Mark, they are available from www.trailseriesaxle.com
@@RCVUltimateAxles I just ordered some on Sunday. Thanks
This video made me smile. I am proud to be an RCV axle customer! Thank you for all of your hard work!
Do lockers on rubicon still work after install?
Absolutely
Just built a tube buggy, front 60 lasted 5 minutes, I’ll be saving for a set of these for sure. Thanks for your dedication to the off-road community
Ordered a set for my 11’ wrangler. Just waiting and hoping they arrive before my event this month!
Great video!
Do you make these for the 97 Hilux ifs
I wonder how a RR ford IFS front would work in the rear.......
They are worth the money for sure!! Their warranty is amazing too!
Great Video!
only the JL Rubicon model have Front Axle Disconnect ? or its also available on the sport or Sahara ?
Rubicon
@@casey197930 that's incorrect. The FAD is on all JL and Gladiator jeeps, not just Rubicon variants. That includes Sport JLs
I love that hammer thing. I need to make one.
Are there any issues installing these in a 2018 Rubicon Recon which has the beefier front Dana 44 with factory locker?
You don't need RCVs until you're breaking Dana 44 shafts.
@@wheels.and.wrenches we break U-joints on the new front Dana44's too regularly. Once the joints break, the shaft have been destroyed at the ears.
@@mcoffroadinaz4075 thats why people dont run Dana 44s
Let's se that with a Dana 60 boot...
Just installed mine in a 2013 Unlimited Rubicon, love em!! Easy installation in my garage.
How often do the RCV axles need to be greased? Once every 3,000 miles or 10,000? Also, how much grease needs to be added?
3-4 pumps every 6 months
I think this is the only legit way to install the RCV in traditional spindle D44. The other way is the grind the crap out of the C and knuckle and monkey F it for a long time and maybe it’ll work. I did a lotta grinding and it wouldn’t work. Didn’t feel like grinding more so I went this route and knocked it out quickly. Only ground 1/8” off the bottom ball joint. The only down side I see if that you can’t torque the bottom ball joint nut to the specific Tq. I was more comfortable doing it with a wrench then grinding the CRAP out of the knuckle and C. The hardest part for me was getting the oil slinger installed at the very end. The RCV video showing the install with just an axle tube in a vise should be pulled down. You can see they cut away when they were inserting the CV. And they let the inner axle go inward which makes the install possible.
Love it. Saving my $$ now for RCV's. I've got a 14 JK Rubicon.
